The Role

We are currently seeking an HR professional with extensive experience in managing compensation and benefit plans to join our People team as the Director of Compensation and Benefits. In this role, you will report to the Vice President of the People team and be responsible for overseeing and managing Curi's compensation and benefit programs. Your main focus will be ensuring that our programs are competitive in the market and effectively recognize, engage, and reward top performance across the organization. Additionally, you will be tasked with designing, implementing, evaluating, and administering Curi's compensation and benefit programs while ensuring compliance with current labor laws.

Key Result Areas

Ongoing review of current compensation practices and market conditions to continually evolve the organization’s pay, incentive and benefits structure.
Develop, communicate and refine Curi’s compensation philosophy and total rewards approach to ensure transparency, continued engagement and increased awareness and understanding of program offerings. Identify opportunities to enhance, clarify and/or brand offerings to support Curi’s total rewards programs.
A dvise on key employee compensation and benefits topics and trends and recommend new approaches as needed.
Design, implement, and manage salary classifications, job banding, compensation incentive and commission plans. Partner with and provide counsel to talent acquisition team and/or hiring leaders on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation.
Conduct job analysis on all new and reclassified positions, assign appropriate pay grades, and recommend salary adjustments, new hire salaries and/or promotional increases as needed.
Lead annual compensation and incentive plan program for entire organization. Ensure administration of incentive programs is in line with plan documents. Update plan documents as needed. Partner with leaders and People Business Partners to drive Curi’s Pay for Performance philosophy.
In partnership with benefits broker, review current benefit plan design, recommend ideas and offerings by understanding market changes, employee requirements and keeping apprised of new developments in employee benefits.
Lead annual open enrollment and communication process. Oversee and manage all benefit vendor relationships.
Oversee the administration of all leaves of absence in partnership with leave vendor (Symetra) including but not limited to Family and Medical Leave, Workers Compensation Leave, and Short and Long Term Disability.
Ensure all benefits are administered efficiently and in accordance with plan documents. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements.
Create a communication strategy and approach to ensure team member understanding of benefit offerings. Identify issues that may warrant additional communication initiatives. Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and vendors; holding them accountable to achieving the expected outcomes for the business.

Leadership

Oversee benefits team and drive high performance through coaching, development and mentoring. Ensures effectiveness of benefits orientation programs and materials for on-boarding and off-boarding team members. Work with team to ensure team member questions are answered and problems are resolved quickly and efficiently.
Develop and lead a high-performing compensation and benefits team, ensuring company goals are met or exceeded while improving efficiencies. Foster a culture of innovation by presenting new ideas, challenging the status quo, and applying creative approaches to work.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance preferred
10+ years of experience managing compensation programs and benefits administration; heavier emphasis on compensation experience.
Thorough knowledge of FMLA, ADA, State Mandates, ERISA, HIPPAA, COBRA, etc.
Expertise in design, development, implementation, and administration of all types of compensation programs including complex sales incentive programs.
