In partnership with 90+ public, private, and nonprofit institutions, we make the experience of homelessness in Dallas and Collin Counties rare, brief, and non-recurring. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Training & Performance Specialist position requires a passionate and driven team member ready to lead in the coordination and delivery of Housing Forward’s external training program while supporting in performance evaluation and technical support delivery for homeless service providers within the Dallas and Collin County Continuum of Care (CoC). As a part of the Performance Management Team, and under direct supervision of the Training Manager, the Training & Performance Specialist will be the “forward face” of the training program, regularly interacting with learners and facilitating synchronous in-person and virtual training.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESPONISBLITIES:

Under the supervision of the Training Manager, the Training & Performance Specialist will:

Training and LMS Administration

Coordinate and facilitate Housing Forward’s full catalog of virtual, in-person, and blended training opportunities

Fulfill the following roles for eLearning courses published to the Learning Management System (LMS):

Instructor – Includes enrolling users in courses, approving assignments, managing discussion posts, and providing technical assistance to end users, etc.

Collaborate with Housing Forward team members at all levels to ensure thorough and accurate delivery of training content and materials relevant to their areas of expertise

Contribute to Housing Forward’s catalog of training materials, videos, documents, and other digital resources published on the Housing Forward website or within the LMS

Remain conversant with any laws, policies, regulations, and guidelines applicable to topics in assigned training projects, which could include:

CoC Policies, Procedures, and Program Regulations

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HMIS Data Standards

Program Regulations and Data Standards for other Federal Funding Partners not listed

Performance Evaluation and Technical Support

Support program compliance monitoring of Housing Forward subgrantees in accordance with Housing Forward monitoring policies and procedures

Assist providers in interpreting performance evaluation outcomes and designing improvement strategies

Collaborate with other members of the training and performance teams to provide personalized training to CoC member organizations on an as-needed basis

Maintain familiarity with CoC written standards, policies, and procedures.

Maintain familiarity with national best practices related to homeless system components including homeless prevention/diversion, emergency shelter, street outreach, rapid rehousing, and permanent supportive housing.

Other Responsibilities

Participate in CoC Workgroup meetings and other project related meetings as needed

Perform other duties as necessary and assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Excellent written, oral communication, and listening skills with all levels of management, staff, and external clients, especially those who are not well versed with computers and technology

Excellent computer skills with attention to details

Strong customer service skills and ability to positively diffuse learner frustration

Proficient in Microsoft office i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Experience using digital Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred

Experience working on a training/learning and performance team strongly preferred

Experience producing training content/materials preferred

Familiarity and competency with HUD CoC Regulations or HMIS Data Standards is a plus

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

2 years of related work experience (Social Work, Adult Education, or similar)

Must have reliable transportation, valid state issued driver’s license and car insurance. Travel is required within Dallas and Collin counties to visit homeless service providers for onsite training, monitoring, and technical assistance.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Housing Forward considers normal hours of operation Monday – Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm. Some night and weekend meetings might be required to meet the need of partner agencies or to represent Housing Forward at community meetings.
Employees are able to work both remotely and in the office. Current Housing Forward guidelines state that employees must work at least 3 days per week in the office, but this is subject to change. Days spent providing onsite training, monitoring, and technical assistance are considered days “in the office”.

COMPENSATION

Housing Forward has a flexible PTO policy for all full-time employees. The office is officially closed on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, & Christmas Day. Housing Forward has MLK Jr., Juneteenth, and Election Day as Days of Service.
