This position serves as a Payroll Analyst – Team B performing highly complex and specialized duties relating to payroll functions for all DoIT employees in assigned areas. In this role you will initiate and prepare payroll vouchers for submission to CMS and the Comptroller’s Office for processing payroll warrants each pay period for verifying adherence to all pertinent policies, rules, standards, guidelines, and processing criteria. In addition, you will organize and assist with preparing supplemental payrolls.. - Under direction, serves as a Payroll Analyst -Team B for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT)
- Initiates and prepares payroll vouchers for submission to the Comptroller’s Office for processing payroll warrants each pay period for verifying adherence to all pertinent policies, rules, standards, guidelines, and processing criteria
- Organizes and assists with preparing supplemental payrolls
- Prepares letters, memorandums, reports, graphs, etc., for supervisors/managers, employees, attorneys, auditors, etc
- Attends and/or participates in various internal/external meetings, seminars, etc., concerning payroll administration, i.e., deferred compensation, retirement, group insurance, vehicle income usage, software training, etc.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college.
- Requires one (1) years of professional experience, preferably in human resources
OR
- Requires satisfactory completion of an approved training program.
- One (1) year of professional experience with payroll processing.
- One (1) year of professional experience using the Personnel Code, Rules, Position Classification Plan, Pay Plan, Collective Bargaining Contracts, and guidelines derived therefrom.
- One (1) year of professional experience utilizing the Central Payroll System, Personnel Examination and Eligibility Records System (PEERS) and Central Time and Attendance System (CTAS), and/or ePASS.
- One (1) of professional experience using Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and Mobius.
- Ability to work with a large volume of information; sort information into like categories and verify by a systematic method the reliability of held information.
- Ability to articulate human resources administration information in descriptive terms to others not versed in the personnel system.
- Demonstrated ability to read, assimilate, and recall with a high degree of proficiency facts and figures.
- Ability to use standard formula in production of measures reflecting characteristics of data.
- Ability to conceptualize and hence to demonstrate relationships between things, person, and ideas.
- Demonstrated ability to write correspondence and reports that contain conceptualizations, facts, and descriptive and quantitative inclusions.

Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
