About the Director of Talent Role:
The Director of Talent leads the HR team and will be a critical thought partner to the Steering Committee. The Director of Talent will report to the Chief Finance and Administrative Officer and is responsible for managing all aspects of the employment lifecycle of SAP’s employees along with one direct report, the Human Resources Manager. The Director of Talent is also responsible, along with the entire SAP team, for promoting and sustaining a company culture that is human-centered and emphasizes excellence, continuous improvement, equity, and inclusion. This position provides a unique opportunity for an HR professional with a minimum of 7-10 years of experience who is strategic, highly detail-oriented, and enjoys working with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Specific Job Responsibilities
Organizational Strategy and Execution
- In collaboration with the President/CEO and the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, establish and align HR strategic priorities with organization-wide strategic goals;
- Collaborate with department heads to forecast hiring needs, ensuring alignment with growth objectives and optimizing resource allocation.
- Implement data-driven recruitment processes and analytics to track key performance indicators (KPIs), improving decision-making and enhancing the overall efficiency of talent operations.
- Conduct market analysis to ensure competitive compensation and bonus structures that align with SAP’s mission and values.
Recruitment and Staffing
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract and retain qualified candidates.
- Oversee the full recruitment cycle including job postings, screening, interviewing, and hiring processes.
- Ensure diversity and inclusion in hiring practices.
- Monitor and evaluate the candidate experience, using feedback to continually improve the recruitment process.
- Train and guide hiring managers on best practices for candidate engagement and equitable hiring practices.
Performance Management
- Manage the implementation of the performance feedback process to ensure employees receive frequent performance and development feedback (to include researching, recommending and implementing technology platforms to allow for automation);
- Oversee performance evaluation systems to ensure consistent and fair appraisals.
- Provide guidance to supervisors on performance issues and improvement plans.
- Facilitate employee recognition programs to boost morale and productivity.
Employee Onboarding, Development, and Offboarding
- Design and conduct onboarding programs to integrate new employees into the organization.
- Identify training needs and organize professional development programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Review, track, and document compliance with required training, continuing education, and work assessments to ensure all staff meet regulatory standards.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as the resource for employee inquiries and concerns.
- Foster a positive work environment through conflict resolution, mediation, and counseling.
- Develop and lead proactive, strategic initiatives to drive employee engagement, learning and development, employee recognition, and employee retention;
- Promote open communication and a culture of feedback within the organization.
- Provide comprehensive support in employee relations, performance management, progressive discipline, policy interpretation, and addressing employee grievances.
Compliance and Policy Management:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
- Develop, update, and implement HR policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure organizational practices adhere to legal and ethical standards.
- Ensure consistent adherence to company policies and procedures and compliance with relevant federal, state, and municipal laws.
- Stay current with trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Qualifications
- At least 7-10 years professional experience in Human Resources management (nonprofit setting preferred);
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience;
- Professional HR designation HRCI (SPHR) or SHRM-SCP Certification preferred;
- Demonstrated HR generalist skill-set with proven ability to work across the HR function and drive HR activities across the full employee lifecycle;
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal HR laws and regulations (as SAP is a virtual organization with employees working across multiple states);
- Commitment to diversity and inclusion, and the equity vision of SAP;
- Demonstrated success in implementing inclusion, diversity and equity initiatives;
- Excellent organizational management skills and demonstrated experience improving Human Resources functions and automating systems;
- Demonstrated record of strong written and verbal communication;
- Deeply people focused, collaborative, and approachable;
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a strategic and knowledgeable resource to a leadership team;
- Demonstrated experience with automated recruitment platform, preferably JazzHR; competency in MS Word, PPT, Outlook and Excel; ability to learn technologies used by the organization as needed;
- High level of initiative, critical thinking, sound judgment and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent attention to detail; the standard is error-free work;
- Strong interpersonal, relationship cultivation and customer service skills;
- Ability to retain confidential information required; and
- Familiarity with Jazz HR, preferred

Location: SAP is a fully remote organization with 35 full-time employees. Travel is required to internal and external meetings – minimum of 3-4 trips per year.
Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary range for this role is $140,000 - $160,000.
