Our client, a wellness brand, is hiring a Benefits Specialist to join their team in NYC on a hybrid schedule (3 days in office and 1 remotely). This is a temporary position that will work 4 days a week, begin at the end of September, and continue for 6 months (as it is covering a leave).
Job Duties Include:
- Partner with relevant teams all Health and Wellness plans
- Administer employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision; life insurance plans, etc.
- Manage vendor activities including day to day oversight, regular status calls, and process improvement initiatives
- Manage day-to-day support activities, including assisting employees with questions
- Partner to oversee COBRA and Adjunct administration through third party administrator
- Conduct new hire benefits orientation
- Collaborate with providers and administrators to resolve questions, problems, and to ensure quality service
- Support the annual benefits open enrollment process, including managing employee communications, presenting benefits plans, gathering and analyzing data, etc.
- Provide recommendations on current and potential benefit programs
- Partner with internal teams on renewals and benefit program implementations
- Manages inbox and respond to inquiries and/or forward to the appropriate personnel
- Oversee the reconciliation of benefits invoices to ensure enrollment and budget accuracy
- Ad hoc duties as needed or assigned
Job Qualifications Include:
- 3+ years of experience working in Benefits Administration
- Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Worker’s Compensation, Medicare, Social Security, and DOL requirements
- Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent presentation, writing, and analytical skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Technical proficiency in one or more HR Information Systems (Success Factors preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree required
Salary: $30 - $32/hr
