Job Summary
The Corporate Director of Human Resources oversees all human resources functions for OCI Hospitality including the corporate office and the hotel portfolio. The Corporate Director of Human Resources leads the execution of human resources strategies, policies and programs including recruitment, onboarding, training, career development, team member relations, compensation, and benefits planning. This position is eligible for remote work in approved states.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and implements strategies related to recruiting, onboarding, development, performance management, engagement, training, compensation, and benefits.
- Directs efforts related to staffing including recruitment, onboarding, training & development, scheduling, counseling, performance management, and other team member relations issues for department.
- Ensures hotels are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including EEO, FMLA, and FLSA.
- Supports property management teams with HR guidance and the application of HR programs.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues and conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to property management teams including coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions.
- Supports management teams in culture initiatives, improving work relationships, building morale, and increasing productivity and retention.
- Oversees annual updates and revisions to the Team Member Handbook and policy guidance and interpretation.
- Identifies training needs and collaborates with outside vendors for training programs as needed.
- Oversees the background check screening process and determines eligibility for hire.
- Benchmarks jobs against survey data, other market intelligence, and company strategy to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
- Advises and informs employees of changes and developments related to insurance benefits including eligibility, coverage, and provisions.
- Prepares and maintains job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.
- Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.
- Oversees leave administration from the employee's initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. Facilitates other leave requests, which may include accommodation requests under the ADA.
- Advises managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers compensation, and short-term and long-term disability benefits.
- Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HRIS users. Ensures implementation and compliance of all OCI Standards for Human Resources.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field or the equivalent in related work experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
- Previous experience with compensation management, benefits administration and leave of absence administration.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of multi-state HR laws, regulations and compliance. This position is eligible to work in MN, WI, IL, VA, IA, NE, AZ, OH, FL, NC, TX, and LA.
