The HR Generalist is a key member of the HR team and reports directly to the Chief HR Officer. Essential Responsibilities:
Payroll
- Management of semi-monthly payroll utilizing an HRIS system to process payroll for multiple pay groups
- Maintain accurate pay records, calculate and input changes as necessary
- Assist employees with login, password reset and training
- Diagnose issues with pay and tax withholdings
- Liaise with payroll provider for solutions and information
- Coordinate tax filing for multi-state locations, ensuring compliance with each entity
- Monthly account reconciliation
Company Events
- Brainstorm creative staff events to build and strengthen company culture
- Coordinate, negotiate and run events together with the HR team
- Plan and execute annual holiday party for 2 offices
- Manage yearly event budget
- Build and maintain relationships with nearby restaurants and vendors
- Facilitate weekly in-house meals and snacks
Benefits
- Administer all benefits programs offered including group health, pre-tax and supplemental benefits.
- Become a subject matter expert on all benefit plans and features offered
- Present benefit changes and enhancements to company as needed
- Responsible for training staff on all program highlights
- Assist with annual insurance renewal negotiations
- Lead open enrollment including communicating plan changes and tracking enrollment status
- Serve as the point person for resolution on claims issues
Employee Life Cycle (Onboarding to Offboarding)
- Main point of contact for all new hires
- Liaise with Talent Acquisition Specialist to prep onboarding materials and ensure smooth transition
- Onboard new hires based on programs selected | Offboard as required
- Provide COBRA materials as necessary and oversee enrollment
Company Policies & Procedures
- Assist employees with policy interpretation
- Make recommendations for policy change when applicable
- Ensure that procedures are current and up to date
- Remain current with local and federal law as it relates to employment policies
Professional Development, Education & Training
- Support Talent Acquisition Specialist with research and enrollments for staff education and training.
- Ensure accurate record keeping
Data Analytics
- Prepare statistical reports to track and compare data
- Liaise with CRM/Innovation department for processing and improvements for HR
- Ensure HR records are accurate and remain confidential
- Responsible for reports i.e, sensitive positions, statistics, PTO and remote usage, and more.
Essential Requirements:
- Exhibit discretion and sound judgment including the protection of sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to maintain a high level of integrity
- Strong technology aptitude including learning new applications and training others
- Minimum 2 years of payroll processing experience required (on HRIS system)
- Outstanding communicator with the confidence and the ability to deliver presentations to large groups
- Administrative excellence & superior organizational skills for significant work flow including the ability to track, evaluate and follow up on multiple priorities
- A team player who possesses a sense of urgency to complete projects
- Excellent writing skills for emails, letters, memos and announcements
- Viewed by others as approachable, positive and dependable
- Initiative taker unafraid to present new ideas & deliver high performance results
- A resourceful, multitasking person who can pivot in an instant and knows how to prioritize and find solutions
- Strong proficiency with Excel, Canva and Salesforce preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
