Position Overview:
The Manager, Employee Relations is responsible for leading a dedicated team of Employee Relations professionals in employment law, compliance, policies and processes and programs that are aligned with and reflect the culture of our global company. This leader sees developing members of the team as a top priority to ensure that the team is upskilling to meet the changing needs and demands of a growing business. The Manager, Employee Relations focuses on building relationships with all levels across the organization by demonstrating both technical and behavioral competencies required to tackle complex employee relations issues. This position will provide advice, guidance and solutions to business leaders and HRBPs to maintain a workplace in which all employees can thrive, drive business results and live out our company values.
This role is based in Minnesota and may require a minimum days per week in the office and be available for projects in an office location as needed. Travel required, at times, domestically.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily activities of Employee Relations Partners
- Provide performance feedback that is timely and constructive
- Review existing Employee Relations processes, policies, programs and systems; suggest and lead efforts to enhance, modify, streamline and modernize to meet the changing needs of the organization.
- Ensure that employee and leader tools that support processes are current, accurate, and effective
- Facilitate resolution of employee issues and concerns in conjunction with the employee and leadership
- Ensure consistent application and interpretation of Labor Relations, Employee Relations and policies
- Oversees adverse employment actions; ensure that all documentation and appropriate steps have been taken and are in compliance with policies and law to avoid litigation
- Conduct workplace investigations of sensitive nature; ensure thorough documentation and follow-up is handled with the highest regard to integrity and respect to all parties involved while mitigating risk
- May lead or participate on cross-functional committees, task forces

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Expertise in federal, state and local labor and employment laws
- Ability to manage and multi-task your own case load while effectively delegating work to team members
- Strong ability to apply effective listening skills, communicate unambiguously with stakeholders at various levels and influence outcomes
- Absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive information, upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to understand the need for change and adjust accordingly
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Minimum/Essential Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory experience
- Ability to travel domestically as needed or requested
- Completion of a variety of DigiKey University, DigiKey Degree courses for leaders during onboarding
- (S)CP-SHRM or (S)PHR certification
Education:
- Bachelor in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or similar area of study
