Job Overview:
Cortland is offering an exciting opportunity to be a part of our fun and growing Talent Acquisition team. As a Talent Acquisition Consultant representing our facilities team you will drive talent efforts based on organizational needs and develop proactive recruitment strategies to fill critical front-line roles. As the first point of contact for future team members, you have the opportunity to uphold and champion the Cortland brand and culture. To do this, you will recruit with intent, hire with emotional and cultural intelligence, and welcome team members with approachability and meaningful engagement.

- Champion the Cortland brand and elevate the candidate experience so well that quality talent is practically breaking down the door, trying to find ways to join the team.
- Fill open positions quickly, track candidate activity thoroughly, and move through the process with utmost accuracy.
- Take pride in your work, knowing you’ve driven great hiring decisions and positively impacted both the Cortland workforce and the new associates you recommended.
Responsibilities of the Position:
Talent Acquisition Strategy and Candidate Attraction
- Develop, promote, and act as an advocate for world class hiring experiences for candidates and business partners.
- Identify the best of the best — people who live our values and model our brand — to fill open positions in our communities nationwide.
- Create local talent communities and pipelines to engage active and passive jobseekers while identifying novel avenues of procuring local talent.
- Skilled in proactive networking and building working relationships while consistently evaluating sourcing solutions to keep Cortland ahead of the curve and create innovative approaches to delivering candidates to your partners.
Create and support an integrated approach to ensure we are engaging local communities to develop pipelines and slates of candidates for selection that enable us to build teams as diverse as the communities we serve.
- Leverage data to create actionable recruitment plan to meet short- and long-term hiring needs
Candidate and Hiring Manager Engagement
- Meet with hiring managers on weekly or bi-weekly basis to understand their staffing needs and gain a clear understanding of their matching qualifications while creating a wonderful relationships along the way
- Help narrow down the interview candidates, coordinate the interview, hand off necessary paperwork, and partner with Talent Acquisition Coordinator to complete the process
- Provide information for the communities that you support when they need it until they are so wowed by the experience, they can’t wait to accept the job
- Introduce new hires into the Cortland fold creating a smooth transition into our onboarding and new hire orientation
Brand Champion
- Act like a walking advertisement for the Cortland brand, bragging about all the benefits we have to offer, including our incentives
- Create and attend open houses, networking events and career fairs to target potential new hires and excite them about working for Cortland
- Seek out marketing and advertising programs that will grow our online presence and ensure that our job postings reach the best candidates possible
Building Blocks of Success:
- 2+ years' experience in high-volume, high growth recruiting environments (i.e., retail, call center, facilities, etc.)
- Experience working with iCIMS and social media platforms
- Self-sufficient and able to work with little direct supervision
- Ability to analyze organizational developments and deploy strategies anticipative future employment needs
- Proactively identify future talent needs and build recruiting strategies inclusive sourcing and talent pool development
- Seek new sourcing solutions, and develop creative approaches to developing pipelines and delivering candidates
- Align localized tactics with organizational talent acquisition objectives
- Develop communications, recruitment marketing, creative and collateral to engage local and national jobseekers
- Ability to turn data into consistent, simple, and meaningful reports for business partners
- Trustworthiness to handle sensitive and confidential company information
- Maintenance and storage of all recruiting records as required by law
