We are looking for someone with experience and understanding of human resources in the local government arena, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service to our employees, retirees, and service vendors. Firm understanding of the alphabet soup that is today’s human capital management, including FLSA, FLMA, ADA, EEOC, and WC. Previous experience in working with LGERS employers and prior benefits administration is strongly desired.
This position is key in managing the entry and validity of our HRIS data, processing vendor invoices, tracking applicants, handling onboarding workflow, creating personnel action forms, validating data changes for biweekly payroll, presentation of monthly new hire orientation programs, and routine benefits administration. The right candidate needs to be a self-starter, with great attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
An employee in this class plans, organizes, develops, and implements various personnel programs in cooperation with managerial levels in the City. Under the general supervision of the Human Resource Director, performs a wide variety of professional human resource services. For the right candidate, this position offers the opportunity to grow in competence, independence, and autonomy.
Work includes understanding and complying with City or Reidsville policies and programs, and assisting in the implementation of personnel practices with managers and employees. Work requires sensitivity to the needs of individual employees, support to management in the personnel tasks, and the use of sound judgment in maintaining confidentiality regarding personnel issues. Work is performed under the administrative supervision of the Human Resources Director and is evaluated through periodic conferences, observation of results achieved, and review of records, reports, and files. Significant independent judgment is required as to when and how established procedures or guidelines are to be applied. This classification is considered exempt in compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Salary Range: $56,832.12 – $85,248.18
Anticipated Hiring Range: $65,000 DOE
