Summary:
The benefits analysts position assists with the administration of all benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, spending accounts and other benefits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, and other benefits.
· Maintain employee benefits systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in benefit system.
· Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims.
· Verify and process all monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies.
· Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
· Administer COBRA systems.
· Assist in the benefits renewal process.
· Assist with carrier enrollment files and identify any issues.
· Assist with the open enrollment process.
· Prepare and maintain reports for vendor enrollments and other requested reports as needed.
· Administers the ACA compliance system which includes 1095s.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or GED and two to three years of experience in employee benefits administration.
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources preferred.
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
- The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
- The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
- The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
