POSITION SUMMARY:
Reports to the Learning & Development (L&D) Director. This position is responsible for assisting in training assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation. The L&D Coordinator welcomes new team members to the organization and guides them through essential onboarding training. They collaborate with department leaders and subject matter experts to create and update statewide training for team members and supervisors. As a member of the L&D Team, they support professional development initiatives to achieve business objectives, compliance requirements, and the directives of Akin strategic plan. They have access to protected healthcare information (PHI) or confidential identifiable information (CII), both paper and electronic, as necessary, to perform related job duties and responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Orients new hires, contractors, and volunteers to trainings and provides technical assistance to support timely completion of training requirements
- Maintains detailed, organized, and functional training delivery and tracking systems
- Creates clear and engaging courses, guides, and learning tools
- Co-facilitates Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support Trainings. Obtains and maintains Standards Trainer certification with the National Family Support Network
- Assesses learning and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with employees and supervisors
- Contributes to training vetting process to support procurement of quality trainings
- Provides consultation to departments to identify and create training strategies
- Responds in a timely manner to communications and requests for technical assistance
- Evaluates training effectiveness through collection of written and verbal feedback
- Researches trends in learning and development and attends trainings to learn about innovative tools and strategies in the field
- Implements and advocates for services and systems that are equitable, fair, responsive, and accountable to populations served
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Experience facilitating trainings and orienting learners to new processes and tools
- Experience training diverse groups using adult learning techniques
- Proficient technical skills and demonstrable experience using Microsoft 365 and video conferencing platforms
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and timelines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to create clear and engaging presentations
- Strong organizational, problem solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals at all levels within the organization
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information in a professional and ethical manner

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- This position is eligible for partial remote work and may also be completed in a professional office environment. The following list is representative of the work environment employees encounter while performing the essential functions of this job: Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, printers, phones)

WORKING REMOTELY:
Working remotely is a benefit of Akin’s flexible workplace, but remote work cannot be offered for all positions. Some positions require daily presence in the office. Remote work arrangements may be adjusted or rescinded based upon business needs.

- While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard; occasionally to reach, stoop and kneel

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years of experience coordinating and facilitating trainings in the Family Support field
- Bilingual in English and Spanish with excellent writing skills Successful completion of a criminal background check
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science, Education, or a related field
- Experience creating online courses
- Experience maintaining learning management systems
SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
The salary range for this position is $26.71 - $35.83. The starting salary range for this position is $26.71 - $29.24 DOE for external candidates.
Full-time employees will also receive 10 days of vacation leave each year, three Employee Appreciation Day each year, and will accrue one sick day per month (pro-rated for part-time employees).
