The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) unit at the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) is seeking a TRANSFORM Research Analyst for the Workforce Diversity Portfolio. This part-time position focuses on the Transforming Biomedical Research and Academic Faculty through Leadership Opportunities, Training and Mentorship (TRANSFORM) program supported by a grant from the NIH National Institutes of General Medical Sciences. This year-long leadership development program is focused on supporting Associate level faculty who are interested in advancing to the professor and senior leadership levels.
Reporting to the Manager, Programs MI, the Research Analyst will be assigned to projects that support the evaluation and research planning and implementation, and coordination of related programmatic activities. In particular, the Research Analyst will be an integral member of the TRANSFORM team supporting the strategic planning, outreach by developing research projects that help to build the scholarly work focused on faculty programs that advance diversity in academic medicine.
How will you make an impact?
- Conducts research and coordinates activities to support research and evaluation projects
- Create systems and perform data collection and analysis (i.e., quantitative, qualitative, and/or mixed methods)
- Conduct scholarly literature searches and summarizing findings
- Assist with report writing and other publication development
- Support program evaluation and research projects
- Coordinate the development of a national database to support longitudinal research
- Provide administrative and logistical support for research projects
- Develops content and learning materials focused on DEI and faculty research Create infographics, summaries, and other data displays associated with faculty data and relevant research
- Develop presentation content and collateral materials for varied audiences
- Assist with the development of leadership curriculum and training materials
- Support program planning associated with the Mid-Career program and the TRANSFORM in-person convening
- Engage in alumni activities to support longitudinal evaluation and research efforts
What You'll Bring To The Role
- Ideal candidates should have a Master’s Degree in higher education, health sciences, public health or a related field with a strong interest in equity, diversity, and inclusion; prior experience in higher education, medical education, health professions education, education policy, or management/organizational psychology; and an understanding of theory and other higher education-related conceptual and theoretical frameworks.
- Strong preference for applicants with quantitative and/or qualitative research and administration experience (e.g., organizing systems to support data collection and management; analyzing quantitative/statistical data; analyzing qualitative data).

Compensation Grade Range And Mid-Point
Grade Range:$0.00 - $100.00/ Grade Mid-Point:$50.00
The above annual compensation range and mid-point are general guidelines. For candidates who meet the criteria, the AAMC's compensation philosophy is to target the midpoint of the salary range. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, as well as internal equity, market, and business considerations.
If a bachelor’s degree is required, related work experience may be substituted in some positions. One year of college course work at an accredited institution is equivalent to one year of related work experience.
