Overview:
The Director, Emerging Talent Acquisition will bring to life and manage the attraction side of the global emerging talent function. As a member of the Global Talent Acquisition Leadership Team, the Director will partner with each of the Gallagher businesses and Learning and Development Teams to foster enthusiasm and support for bringing young, out-of-industry talent to Gallagher. The Director will ensure a global and cohesive Emerging Talent Acquisition experience for business lines and candidates alike.
The Emerging Talent Acquisition recruitment team members are to be brand advocates, ambassadors, and providers of market insight and competitive intelligence. At Gallagher, Talent Acquisition is about adding value to the business, not simply transacting recruitment.
Ultimately, the Director of Emerging Talent Acquisition will spearhead a strategic and cohesive, best in class, Talent Acquisition function across the globe.

Vision and Influence
- Partner with the Managing Director, Talent Acquisition UK, EMEA & APAC; the Senior Director, Talent Acquisition U.S. and Latin America; and with Human Resources and Business Line leaders to modernize, improve, develop, and implement a cohesive, candidate centric recruitment strategy for emerging talent programs as developed by the business.
- Develop strong partnerships with Learning and Development and Finance stakeholders to align investments, recruitment operations, and program operations.
- Partner with recruitment marketing and external partners as appropriate to reach and influence top emerging talent prospects.
- Clearly represent Talent Acquisition CoE goals and capabilities to stakeholders.
- Gain cross-divisional support by seeking opportunities to share emerging talent strategy, compensation trends, and best in class recruitment strategy with business line leaders and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other functional leads (HRIS, Talent Management, Rewards, etc.) to ensure seamless handoffs providing best in class support.
- Continuously review, on a region-by-region basis, the Emerging Talent Acquisition function to ensure it is correctly resourced, sized and positioned for optimum recruitment delivery, performance, and future growth, in keeping with Gallagher’s strategic growth objectives.
- Lead with and use data to tell a story, providing recruiting status reports and communications to senior leadership, key business partners, and cross functional business partners.
Strategic Leadership and Execution
- Ensure strategic alignment with the broader global Talent Acquisition function and business objective, delivering thought leadership, recruitment provision, and operational delivery of hires to Gallagher.
- Ensure recruitment strategy balances local flexibility and market adaptations with global consistency and alignment on key issues and processes.
- Balance operational effectiveness and compliance with local labor laws, processes, and policies.
- Assimilate divisional emerging talent programs into the emerging talent recruitment strategy.
- Partner with business line and Human Resources colleagues to provide subject matter expertise and advice on recruiting issues and to provide a recruitment delivery model that addresses specific business line and location requirements.
- Support Mergers and Acquisitions and align on recruitment efforts and emerging talent resourcing needs.
- Work with Global TA CoE, TA Leaders, and HR Directors to ensure crisp and clear emerging talent recruitment change management, communications, and expectation management.
- Intentionally manage business line stakeholder engagement and adoption.
- Lead the emerging talent recruiting team to achieve deliverables including, but not limited to:
- Elevating internal processes to ensure consistent position descriptions, interview techniques, and candidate experience
- Evaluating and developing the tools and agencies available to the team
- Balancing budgeted hiring needs to business demand and profitability
- Ensuring I&D runs inherently through processes and shortlists to improve Gallagher’s position
- Providing recruitment metrics and analytics to drive recruitment performance
- Delivering market insight and intelligence to stakeholders to add value as a trusted partner
- Working closely with Talent Acquisition Recruitment Marketing and Operations teams to ensure that overarching recruitment collateral and brand is appropriate for each jurisdiction (local vs. global)
- Driving adoption and advancement of future recruiting technologies in alignment with ongoing global and regional technology evolutions
- Training and developing the emerging talent recruitment team to ensure best in class delivery
- Championing Gallagher culture; being a voice of the Gallagher Employer Brand
People Management and Development
- Develop and guide a team of Emerging Talent Recruiters that is capable of positioning the Talent Acquisition CoE to Business Line Leaders, and vice versa; fostering dialogue, education, and delivery of top emerging talent to Gallagher.
- Provide day to day team management to ensure the recruitment function runs like a commercial business with operational excellence to achieve desired results and a measurable return on investment.
- Own metrics and reporting for recruitment activity and progress; establish SLAs, goals and KPIs to drive and measure success, becoming the central conduit for all emerging talent hiring and recruitment data oversight.
- Flag or escalate deviations and anomalies as identified and provide options for remedial action.
- Contribute to ongoing continuous improvement aligned to Talent Acquisition strategic pillars: Branding and Attraction, Developing Team Capabilities, and Technology and Automation.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, organizational development or related field.
- At least ten years relevant experience designing, implementing and leading a world class recruiting organization
Preferred:
- Post graduate degree preferred. Previous HR leadership in recruiting for a financial services organization, particularly an insurance company, is a plus.
