Job Summary
We are looking for a leader who will be responsible for developing and implementing global programs and services that advance our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) within Blackline. This individual should be committed to building inclusive cultures and attracting and developing top talent from varied backgrounds and experiences. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to advance our mission of building a diverse organization where every employee can bring their authentic self to work.
Key Opportunities
- Develop and implement comprehensive company-wide DEIB strategies, initiatives, and action plans that align with our company’s values and business goals.
- Collaborate with HR, leadership, and various teams to integrate DEIB principles into all aspects of the business including but not limited to recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, and career development processes.
- Establish and maintain metrics to measure the effectiveness of DEIB programs and initiatives, regularly assessing progress and making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Conduct training and workshops and develop resources to raise awareness and enhance understanding of DEIB issues, fostering a more inclusive and culturally competent workforce.
- Provide guidance and support to employee resource groups and affinity networks, encouraging their active participation in promoting diversity and inclusion within the organization.
- Act as a liaison with external organizations and communities to enhance partnerships and drive meaningful DEIB initiatives in our broader community.
- Develop communication strategies to raise awareness of DEIB efforts and celebrate diversity achievements throughout the organization.
- Stay informed about industry best practices, trends, and legal requirements related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, incorporating them into our company’s policies and practices.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise, strategic planning, thought leadership, coaching, education and consultancy to leaders to become a more inclusive and diverse organization leading to key DEIB business outcomes.
- Design and implement DEIB change initiatives that foster a culture of inclusion and drive engagement, broaden, and enhance the employee experience while cultivating an environment for employee led efforts.
- Grow the Employee Resource Group (ERG) strategy, provide leadership and support to empower and strengthen our internal communities.
- Play a meaningful role in our Corporate Social Responsibility strategies, including project management of external certifications. Identify and develop key external partnerships to create access to diverse talent today and in the future through long-term partnerships.
- Partner with the HRIS team to develop dashboards and methodology for analyzing metrics to measure effectiveness of the DEIB strategy.
- Advise & collaborate with key stakeholders, Internal Communications, and Marketing to enhance internal and external branding.
- Identify policies and processes required for the attraction and inclusion of diverse talent.
- Develop and launch new programs targeting early career and diverse populations.
- Be a strong voice for inclusion and diversity in the broader industry and help guide us on the path to reflecting our DEIB values in our products and helping to change the industry/world.
- Partner closely to shape high-impact DEIB learning across the organization, innovating to ensure desired impact for specific needs, reducing our biases, and ensuring we develop a deeper understanding and acumen around the impact of privilege and personal responsibility for change.
Required Qualifications
- Years of Experience in Related Field: 10+ years of Human Resources and a minimum of five years of dedicated DEIB experience.
Education: Bachelors or Higher
Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to apply foundational DEIB knowledge, current research, and best practices to their work.
- Understanding of common HR strategies, and operational responsibilities allowing you to navigate business needs, corporate ecosystems & cultural nuances.
- Expertise in managing successful partnerships, projects & relationships.
- Skilled at collaborating and communicating effectively with various stakeholders, including executive level leaders; ability to coach and mentor across the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to develop an inclusion, equality and diversity framework that is connected to an organization’s mission and business strategy.
- Proven ability to successfully influence and collaborate across the company and at every level, to help create common goals and a vision of the future of an inclusive workplace.
- Proven change management skills, the ability to influence and drive initiatives across functions, levels, and regions.
- Able to contribute strategically to the broader needs and goals of the business, strong business acumen, intellectually curious and data driven.
