Labcorp is seeking a Director, Labor Relations who will manage relationships with labor unions, negotiate collective bargaining agreements, handle labor disputes and advise management on labor-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Labor Relations Strategy
- Develop and implement labor relations strategies that align with the organization’s objectives and legal requirements.
- Monitor and analyze labor market trends, labor laws and union activities to anticipate and address potential issues.
- Union Relations
- Build and maintain positive relationships with labor unions and their representatives.
- Act as the primary liaison between the organization and labor unions.
- Lead negotiations for collective bargaining agreements, ensuring terms are beneficial and fair to both the organization and employees.
- Dispute Resolution
- Manage and resolve labor disputes, grievances, and conflicts.
- Implement effective conflict resolution techniques and strategies.
- Represent the organization in arbitration, mediation, and other dispute resolutions proceedings.
- Compliance and Advisory
- Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Advise senior management on labor relations policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with HR and legal departments to ensure policies are legally compliant and effectively communicated.
- Employee Engagement
- Promote positive employee relations and engagement through various programs and initiatives.
- Address employee concerns and feedback related to labor relations in a timely and effective manner.
Knowledge | Skills | Abilities
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage and resolve conflicts and disputes effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including union representatives, employees and management.
Minimum Qualifications | Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in labor relations, including experience in union environments and collective bargaining.
- Certifications in labor relations or HR (e.g. SHRM,-SCP, SPHR) is a plus

Pay Range: $150k-$180k plus bonus
