Position Information
As a key member of the Workforce Development section, you'll be part of a team that manages the contractors who train employees online and in-person throughout the state. You'll serve as one of the Agency's training operations team, working behind the scenes to organize and implement training in an organizational culture of lifelong learning and career development here at TxDOT. You'll work with the rest of the training team, contractors, and local points of contact to independently schedule and manage training events throughout the state. You'll work under minimal supervision and be trusted to use your initiative and judgment deliver the best training in the transportation industry.

Position Description
Instructs, plans, develops, coordinates, delivers and evaluates. Department training classes or programs. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.
Essential Duties:
- Serves as a Program Administrator for Department training projects; responsible for managing all aspects of a contracted scope of work to ensure vendor compliance and effective training outcomes.
- Responsible for the scheduling, implementation, budget execution, evaluation, communications and overall management of training provided to the Department by third parties.
- Maintains liaison with Department training coordinators, sponsoring steering or oversight committees and training stakeholders.
- Monitors and oversees an instructional program area and associated budget.
- Evaluates performance of third party training providers.
- Designs and develops methods, including surveys, for assessing and evaluating training effectiveness and sets up evaluation measures.
- Organizes and directs training teams and resources to complete staff development and instructional projects.
- Performs trend analysis and/or prepares special research projects and statistical reports.
- Provides collaborative consultation to districts, divisions and offices on training matters.
- Travels/drives to administer/perform training functions.
- Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education, Communications, Business or related disciplines. Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Experience: 4 years training, adult education or staff development activities. (Experience can be satisfied by full-time or prorated part-time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

- The use of training equipment and materials
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
- Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs
- Standing-prolonged periods of time
- Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
