Must live in or be willing to relocate to one of the following states to be eligible for hire: Florida, Vermont, Tennessee, Texas, New York, Washington, Nebraska, North Carolina, Arizona, Rhode Island, New Jersey, California, Missouri, Michigan, Massachusetts, or Illinois.
How I will contribute:
The Senior Software Developer develops specifications for complex software programming applications and modifies/maintains the existing software. The person in this position develops, modifies, and maintains applications that may be customized or standardized. The Senior Software Developer participates in design and coding activities with other staff members.
- Design/code applications following specifications using appropriate tools
- Perform maintenance programming for existing version
- Assume responsibility for ongoing data architecture for product
- Work to mitigate risk and escalate as appropriate
- Mentor and support junior team members
- Document code, calculations, inputs, outputs, and functionality
- Perform custom programming at customer request
- Maintain and modify existing applications without help
Qualifications:
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to other technical staff members
- Ability to interface well with professional support staff and other non-technical members of
- the organization
- Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies
- Knowledge relating to the area in which analysis and coding is performed
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, technical environment with minimal instruction
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent on-the-job experience is preferred
- Experience with Integral Payroll Software a preferred
- Minimum 8+ years of experience
- COBOL, DB2, SQL, MVS/TSO/ISPF, CICS, MS windows, Excel, Word
- Payroll and transaction processing, HRIS (Human Information Systems) experience a plus
