Job Title: People and Organizational Culture Associate
Status: Full-time, exempt
Location: This position can be remote or work out of our offices in Oakland or Brooklyn
Reports to: HR Manager
Salary: $60,000-$75,000 depending on experience

POSITION SUMMARY
The People and Culture Associate plays a vital role in supporting the organizational culture and human resources functions at TLC. This position works closely with and collaborates with various teams across the organization to ensure a supportive and inclusive work environment for all employees. The ideal candidate is passionate about transgender and gender nonconforming (TGNC) liberation, racial justice, and creating an inclusive workplace culture. Flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a nuanced understanding of TGNC communities with a commitment to centering Black and indigenous communities of color are essential for success in this role.
Primary Responsiblilties
- Support the Deputy Directors in crafting messages for TLC and managing team communications.
- Assist in implementing initiatives to foster an inclusive and supportive organizational culture, with a focus on centering the voices and experiences of TGNC communities, particularly Black and indigenous communities of color.
- Support implementation of accessibility practices in the organization.
- Maintain organization wide calendar.
- Temporary Support the Operations Manager with staff supply ordering.
- Temporary Support the Operations Manager with occasional gift ordering for celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.
- Manage administrative tasks related to human resources, such as onboarding new employees, maintaining employee records, update benefit profiles, and support coordinating professional development opportunities.
- Provide support to employees on HR-related inquiries, benefits administration, and other employee assistance programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of HR policies, labor laws and practices with organizational values and goals.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to support a healthy work-life balance and employee well-being.
- Support staff with accommodations, leaves, and other access needs
QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS
- 1-3 years of experience in HR administration, benefits administration, organizational development, or related areas.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong self-accountability skills
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with an understanding of intersectional issues impacting TGNC communities.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
