As a leading cannabis company dedicated to providing high-quality products and exceptional service to our customers, we are seeking a motivated part-time HR and Payroll Assistant to join our dynamic team as we continue to expand. This is a remote position supporting the business operations of several retail locations.
Job Type: Part-time, under 30 hours per week
Pay: $20-22 per hour
Work location: Remote, must be able to travel to locations within Riverside, San Bernardino, Palm Desert, and Los Angeles County locations less than 10% of the time.
Responsibilities:
The HR and Payroll Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization's HR and Payroll department. Your responsibilities include:
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date employee files, records, and documentation.
- Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employee’s hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Provides clerical support to the HR/Payroll department.
- Assists with payroll functions, including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.
- Records and processes federal and state payroll tax deposits.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior related office experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information systems (HRIS), and timekeeping platforms.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional standing and walking to various parts of the office or retail locations.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds, such as files, office supplies, and small equipment.
- Regularly required to use hands to type, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly required to communicate with employees and candidates, requiring hearing and speech abilities.
- This position is remote, with occasional travel to the office and retail locations up to 10%
