The Manager of Inclusive Talent Strategies drives inclusive and equitable talent management and employee experiences with a true consumer-like mindset and culture where diverse talent thrives. This role collaboratively develops the DEI/Employee Experience (EX) strategies that impact the talent ecosystem and executes a variety of enterprise-wide initiatives throughout the employee life cycle to improve representation, cultivate a sense of belonging, promote an inclusive workplace culture, and enhance employee satisfaction with the EX.
Outcomes for this role align with our DEI Strategic Framework with responsibility for diversifying the leadership bench, improving the perception and reality of inclusion, and belonging, and increasing support for and participation in DEI all while ensuring a positive experience with the organization. This may include improving the onboarding experience, employee engagement, leveraging employee strengths, and all the many moments that matter.
Central to this position is inspiring engagement and productivity by creating a workplace in which every employee feels valued, respected, connected, and motivated. This will be accomplished by delivering personalized authentic and meaningful experiences that drive engagement and passion, strengthening performance across individuals and teams, and ultimately fueling company success.
The Manager oversees a team of program managers responsible for leading the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of our organization's DEI and employee experience programs. Specific programs in this workgroup include rewards and recognition, Clifton Strengths, resource groups, holistic well-being, and companywide affinity months. This workgroup will engage in the collaborative design, development, and/or execution of solutions and key business initiatives related to retention and engagement, diversity recruiting, progression equity, and the support of different identity dimensions.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies and programs to foster an inclusive and equitable work environment and deliver an exceptional diverse, equitable, and inclusive talent experience.
- Fulfill EVP promises and drive a culture that engages and retains employees to drive positive organizational and business outcomes.
- Stay informed about DEI best practices, trends, and legal requirements proactively incorporating them into our company’s policies and practices.
- Conduct DEI risk assessments and evaluate programs and initiatives for compliance and alignment with business goals and Velera’s risk profile.
- Collaborate with HR and OE leadership and COE’s to integrate DEI/EX principles, a DEI competency model, and Velera Values into recruitment, hiring, training, performance, and career development processes.
- Promote awareness and education around DEI/EX best practices through training, workshops, and communication campaigns.
- Analyze and address barriers to DEI within the organization driving employee-wide ownership of DEI.
- Support Velera Values and help drive employee adoption and supported behaviors.
- Lead the design and implementation of employee experience initiatives across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, development, recognition, and offboarding.
- Partner to create consumer-like experiences, optimizing “ease of use” and removing “points of friction” from processes and/or system design.
- Analyze and interpret data related to DEI metrics, employee engagement, and program effectiveness.
- Partner with the HR Systems and Talent Analytics team to develop and implement a strategy for personalized employee experience through knowledge management, customized experiences, and digital service delivery.
- Develop and execute plans to ensure that DEI, Clifton Strengths, rewards/recognition, and engagement are integrated into multiple business processes, ultimately becoming part of the culture of Velera. Leverage champions and advocates throughout the company.
- Lead the enterprise-wide Strengths-Based Organization Program. Develops an overall strategy for multi-year deployment for both individual and team-based strengths. Provide strengths coaching to individuals and design and deliver impactful team-based learning sessions throughout the organization.
- Evaluate programs against industry standards; analyze results and develop action plans to ensure a best-in-class employee experience consistently across the enterprise.
- Develop metrics/KPIs and dashboards to measure progress and impact of initiatives on business results.
- Identify and lead key projects for the DEI/EX function.
- Participate in the development of department goals, with particular focus on aligning department goals with the business units served and overall company goals.
- Manage and mentor two Program Managers, providing guidance, coaching, and support for their professional development.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of DEI and employee experience programs and initiatives.
- Develop and manage budgets, timelines, and resources for assigned projects and programs.
- Ensure effective stakeholder communication and collaboration.
- Analyze and interpret data related to DEI metrics, employee engagement, and program effectiveness.

Role Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration or other job related field or equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
- Clifton Strengths Coach or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- DEI certification preferred.
- Human-centered design certification preferred.
Experience
- 7+ years of progressive experience in or supporting Human Resources with strong knowledge of the employee lifecycle and talent ecosystem.
- 5+ years of experience supporting DEI or employee experience. Must have some level of expertise with DEI and employee engagement. Expertise with culture, Employer Value Proposition, and Best Places to Work strategies and programs preferred.
- 3+ years of people leadership experience (direct preferred).
- Must have experience with the impact and synergies between business partner strategies and other human resource processes, such as talent development, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
- Proven success in coaching, mentoring, and developing a team while creating a team culture of belonging, respect, and psychological safety.

Pay Equity
Velera is committed to pay equity and a competitive benefits package. The hiring amount for this position based on relevant experience and internal equity; the pay range is:
$105,600.00
to
$134,600.00
- Note: The amount shown is based on full time annual salary and would be prorated based on role.
In addition this position is eligible for an incentive plan, based on performance.
