INTERVIEW AND HIRE POSITION

The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) owns, operates, and maintains eight major toll facilities comprised of four bridges, two tunnels, and two turnpikes, across the State of Maryland. Nature of Work: This position functions as an HR Coordinator with primary duties supporting multiple HR functional areas within the Office of Human Resources and Workforce Development (OHRAWD) of MDTA. This position performs entry-level HR activities involving critical thinking, high attention to detail, and independent judgment when processing a high volume of HR actions. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Monitor the units’ Outlook email inboxes to receive, log, and enter HR actions into corresponding tracking databases;
- Review all incoming requests submitted to HR for completeness, accuracy, and appropriate approval signatures;
- Enter actions into multiple systems, including HRIS and internal databases;
- Coordinate the processing of actions across multiple HR units by proactively identifying discrepancies and taking appropriate corrective actions;
- Prepare, manipulate, and analyze statistical reports from a variety of online sources;
- Approve/deny reclassification requests for proficiency progressions and vacancy downgrades;
- Schedule pre-employment physicals for employment candidates involving coordination with the State medical provider;
- Handles confidential data and records in strict accordance with applicable laws, rules and regulations;
- Create forms and/or SOPs for new and revised processes and procedures; and
- Participate in job-related events and meetings in support of the mission, goals and objectives of the Office.
Employees in this position will report directly to a
Human Resources Manager or higher level authority.
The current vacancy is located in Baltimore, MD. Hybrid telework schedules may be available for this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: None.
