The Director, Global DEI is accountable for leadership, strategy, optimization, and performance of Ford’s global external diversity partnerships. The role is a key member of the Global DEI leadership team and reports directly to the Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer. The role will provide strategic design and oversight to align global external partnerships to critical demographic talent opportunities in support of talent attraction, employee development and community involvement. The role will lead stakeholder alignment of critical internal partners including skill team and functional leaders, HR business partners, Talent Acquisition, Ford Fund, and employee resource groups. The role also designs effective communication strategies and oversees their implementation. The role has expertise in stakeholder and risk management, designing partnership programs in line with business priorities, and ensuring compliance further contributes to fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment. The role is an individual contributor today but will evolve over time to lead people.
You'll have….
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences or a related field and/or commensurate experience.
- Minimum 8 years of work experience with a Master’s degree or 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Diversity Equity and Inclusion, designing data-driven DEI strategy and supporting initiatives leading teams to meet deliverables and metrics in related functions such as equal employment opportunities, affirmative action, HR, project/program management, or diversity programs in large-scale global organizations collaborating with executive-level stakeholders.

What you'll do….
- Oversees development and execution of a strategic roadmap for the DEI team, aligned with the organization's business imperatives and values, with fairness and consistency in a timely manner, across locations. Ensures compliance with organizational practices, procedures, and policies, embedding DEI principles in all aspects of the organization's operations. Ensures maintenance of accurate and confidential records and data for DEI initiatives in compliance with employment laws, and regulations.
- Designs and oversees the implementation of key processes and workflows to drive DEI initiatives such as employee resource groups (ERG), unconscious bias training, diversity recruitment programs, and inclusive leadership development, collaborating with multiple HR functions, providing expert guidance and support to managers on DEI matters and fostering an inclusive work environment and addressing related challenges.
- Assesses the diversity, equity, and inclusion needs of the organization through partnerships with People Analytics, Human Resources Business Partners, survey data, focus groups, and listening forums. They should demonstrate the ability to proactively develop insights to inform strategic decision-making.
- Leads projects which involve identifying innovative solutions for various issues pertinent to DEI through exhaustive stakeholder interactions and risk analysis, evaluating multiple alternatives and their business implications informing the course of action.
- Leads the development of relevant standards, procedures, and reporting templates to ensure efficient and effective experiences.
- Develops and monitors DEI metrics and their impact on the business. Prepares periodic reports and presentations on the progress and results of DEI initiatives and consults with different departments wherever necessary to ensure data-driven decision-making and alignment with organizational DEI goals.
- Develops communication strategies across channels to effectively communicate DEI-aligned messaging, initiatives, and progress to employees, stakeholders, and the broader community. Establishes and sustains internal and external partnerships to support DEI initiatives.
- Leads and oversees key administrative responsibilities within the DEI function, serving as a key liaison with other departments. Conducts briefings and meetings with cross-functional teams to move forward DEI initiatives, address critical issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and integrate DEI principles and best practices into business operations.
- Develops and manages departmental budgets specifically for DEI initiatives, regularly monitors actual performance against budgeted targets, and develops strategies to adjust courses of action in case of variance. Leads presentations on budget performance with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with DEI objectives.
