ABOUT THE JOB
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) will be a key member of the Human Resources Team facilitating both a strategic presence and tactical initiatives from our Portland, Oregon office in Old Town but supporting all Firm locations in Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, and various remote locations. The HR Business Partner will work as a cohesive team with other HRBPs, Sr. HRBPs, and provide support to the VP of People by aligning business objectives with team members and management in designated business units while serving as a coach and mentor.
A HRBP formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and team members that reflects the business objectives of the Firm while maintaining an effective level of business literacy about the business unit’s financial position, it’s midrange plans, it’s culture, and it’s competition. The successful HRBP candidate will have advanced experience with navigating complex, confidential Human Resources matters and be a strategic partner to leadership and to the VP of People.
This is a hybrid role with an expectation of being in-office a minimum of two of the Firm’s three anchor days which are Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday. Occasional travel may be necessary.

What will you do in this role?
You will
- Manage relationship and regular partnership with assigned business unit(s) as a subject matter expert in a consultative role, providing Firm policy guidance and interpretation.
- Leads the analysis of trends and metrics in partnership with the HRBP team to develop solutions, programs, and policies and ensure equity and inclusiveness.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees and the states they reside or operate in, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Works closely with management and team members to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
- Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs and participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
- Conduct and/or participate in new-employee orientations to ensure employees are fully educated on the company’s history, culture and beliefs while also providing an understanding of benefits plans and enrollment provisions.
What you bring to be successful
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- SHRM-CP/SCP or SPHR/PHR certification required
- 8 + plus years progressive HR experience required preferably in professional services.
- Advanced knowledge of: MS Office especially Excel
- UKG Ready, PayScale, and Deltek (VantagePoint) experience a plus
