Under the general supervision of the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Policy, Risk & People, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) works as a collaborative team member with the Human Resources team and department leadership to create an environment of excellence within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA). The HRBP is responsible for strategically aligning business objectives with employees and management within DIA business units. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the DIA. The HRBP will collaborate with the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Policy, Risk & People to devise and execute initiatives to streamline and measure processes that foster accountability and effectiveness. Responsibilities will include consulting with managers and supervisors on performance management as well as managing and resolving complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough and objective investigations, managing leaves of absence and the reasonable accommodation process, and working with the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Policy, Risk & People and Director of HR Operations to interpret and apply regulations, policy and procedures as appropriate. The HRBP will independently set priorities and oversee functions in accordance with department, university, conference and NCAA policy and procedures. This position will serve as an internal consultant and coach to supervisors and employees on personnel issues and foster a workplace environment consistent with the department's and university's values and mission.
Salary & Compensation

Qualifications
- Five (5) Years 5+ years of experience in human resources, including: org development, employee relations, culture improvement, personnel policies, collective bargaining agreements/training/learning development (Required)
- Experience in building and executing people and performance management systems, including implementing training & professional development programs. (Required)
- Strong ability to think critically and strategically to creatively problem solve. (Required)
- Experience with policy creation, implementation and management for a business organization. (Required)
- Ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential human resources situations, issues and information with discretion and tact while maintaining confidentiality. (Required)
- Knowledge of data management to input and retrieve data and generate statistics and reports via complex linked queries. (Required)
- Ability to prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes in assignments, deadlines, completing requirements, and workload. (Required)
- Ability to exercise sound independent judgment and follow through on assignments with minimal direction. (Required)
- Incumbent must be able to work cooperatively with staff members, administrator, and other University departments in a complex administrative environment. (Required)
- Skill to interpret and ability to effectively communicate complex information about employee relations, policies and other issues to multiple appropriate constituencies. (Required)
- Incumbent must have excellent written and oral communication skills to communicate effectively at a variety of levels including University executive management, officials of the NCAA and Conference, administrators, staff, and coaches. (Required)
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to comply with University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations, policies and procedures. (Required)
