American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the Global leader in the Commercial Payments Solutions space and subsequently continues to be an exciting and fast-growing segment. To maintain success, accelerating sales and driving profitable charge volume growth are critical for the organization. The Sales Enablement, Pricing and Transformation (SPT) team is instrumental in ensuring achievement of these objectives. SPT’s mission is to power GCS growth through the provision of informed pricing, sales enablement, and process transformation.
This Director role will report into the VP of G&L Learning and Development within our Sales Enablement organization.
About the role:
You will lead a creative team of instructional designers in building learning & development strategies that support our frontline sales colleagues and their leaders. The resulting high-impact programs will be used to onboard new hires, upskill existing employees, and enable effective sales coaching. You will partner with regional training teams and enable them to deliver the programs successfully.
As a critical member of the Sales Enablement organization, your strategies will empower our commercial sales teams with the skills and confidence to deliver a consistent brand, value proposition, and a seamless experience to prospects and customers – ultimately driving bottom line results.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Partner with key business partners to understand business priorities and consult on best-in-class, scalable and modern training delivery solutions.
Lead a team in the development of large-scale, competency-based sales enablement & learning solutions that address knowledge and skills gaps and drive the success of the commercial sales organization.
Partner closely with regional go-to-market teams to co-create relevant trainings, deliver train-the-trainer sessions, and ensure trainings are delivered flawlessly – with appropriate measurement strategies in place.
Collect and analyze data to offer strategic insights and measure the impact of each initiative.
Generate new opportunities across the training and enablement landscape by building, managing and leveraging strong strategic networks.
Motivate and drive the Foundational Content team to achieve goals and clearly demonstrate return on investment and impact to the business through a data-driven approach.
Take a lead in knowledge sharing and developing learning skills internally across the Learning and Development teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated people leader with ability to recruit, develop and manage successful teams to achieve business goals.
Ability to network and be a positive relationship manager capable of establishing and building trust with varying levels of leadership through deep understanding of business objectives, drivers and needs.
Track record of developing winning strategies, converting them into clear plans for execution as well as connecting to the wider vision.
Strategic approach with the ability to work under pressure, navigate through ambiguity, and balance multiple priorities, defining and establishing new approaches as needed.
Ability to influence and inspire the confidence of both internal and external partners.
Ability to adapt approach and message to effectively engage and communicate with different customer groups.
Significant learning and development experience, particularly instructional design and adult education.
Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
