Position Summary
The Senior Compensation Analyst will be the liaison between HR partners, Executive Officers, external vendors and providing executive compensation support to current and retire officers. This role will also be the responsible for data analyses, providing analytics, leading systems maintenance for applications utilized by team, and interpreting compensation policies. The successful candidate will also drive the development of continuous process improvements and tools. The role will report to the Executive Compensation Manager.
Job Responsibilities
- SURVEY PARTICIPATION: Complete Executive Compensation surveys, perform survey job matching, and conduct market research as needed.
- COMMUNICATION AND EDUCATION: Support the development of materials for the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors. Additionally, draft employee, retiree and dependent executive compensation and non-qualified benefit communications and education materials to ensure highest level of understanding and satisfaction with client's executive compensation plans to ensure ease of participant selection transactions.
- ON-GOING ADMINISTRATION OF EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION PROGRAMS: Lead programs under the company's Executive Compensation Non-Qualified Plan and Long-Term Incentive Compensation Plan, specifically the Restricted Stock Units and performance Share programs for employees and non-employee directors. Additionally, manage vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual agreements through regular performance meetings with vendors, tracking/monitoring vendor metrics, and support research/resolve/root cause for data/file issues for continuous improvement purposes. Ensure adequacy of supporting internal controls and proper accounting to support the accuracy of information reported. Establish internal process documentation and recommend enhancements to existing process and procedures
- EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION PROGRAM ANALYSIS: Conduct analysis of Executive Compensation programs effectiveness and recommend to management improvement/changes to the current program; stay up to date on new trend of Executive Compensation practices and provide recommendation to enhance or create new programs
- LEGAL & REGULATORY COMPLIANCE: Support compliance with various legal and regulatory requirements (including SEC, NYSE, CPUC, and IRS) on client's Executive Compensation Programs by drafting executive compensation information included in various filings such as the annual proxy CD&A, annual 77M filing, prospectus disclosures, and 10-Q and 10-K filings. Additionally, prepare and analyze compensation information in response to regulatory requests on an ad hoc basis.
Qualifications Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. business administration, finance, human resources, industrial organizational psychology) or equivalent experience
- 5 years of relevant experience in business administration or data analysis, with 3 years of compensation experience.
- Vendor management experience
- Knowledge and experience with equity plan administration
Desired:
- Advanced degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. business administration, finance, human resources, industrial organizational psychology)
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification
- Experience using SAP BI for reporting
- Quantitative analysis skills and working knowledge of statistical analysis
- Proficiency with Microsoft Access
- Working knowledge of SAP OM, Job Object and related info types
- Advanced-level proficiency with Microsoft Excel (e.g. formulas, pivot tables, slicers)
