Overview
As an integral member of the Talent Management team, the Learning & Development Consultant will be focused on the creation and stewardship of an exceptional employee experience. Exemplary project management skills and the ability to overcome blockers and track to milestones is critical to success. The person in this role is responsible for creating compelling learning activities and course content, working with stakeholders to identify training needs, applying instructional design theroies and methods, and utilizing multimedia tools to enhance the learning process. The incumbent will also conduct instructional research and maintain project documentation for effective course development.
Job Highlights
- Serves as a training solution partner to the organization, working directly and independently with stakeholders to define the need and design training solutions.
- Applies project management skills, business acumen, and relationship management skills to managing instructional design projects. Responsible for managing multiple projects and training programs concurrently.
- Responsible for design and production of effective and time-frugal training material and content such as online/e-learning modules, microlearning courses, instructor-led training (to be used by varying levels of experience in facilitation), job aids, online tutorials, and multimedia content.
- Areas of training may include, but are not limited to, new employee onboarding, performance management, professional and leadership development, and team engagements.
- Writes and edit technical and procedural documents such as training aids, quick reference guides, participant guides and/or facilitator manuals, etc.
- Responsible for Learning Management System administrative maintenance and reporting. (Workday Learning & Performance modules)
- Provides support to direct manager in communications and maintenance of programs and processes for leadership, teammates, and key stakeholders.
- Increases learning and awareness for organizational development intervention practice and technology as well of learning and development trends and technology.
- Supports the maintenance of established programs for documentation and dissemination of information as needed.
- In coordination with Talent Management team members, supports change efforts necessary to launch new and revised training experiences and culture initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience as an Instructional Designer required.
- Extensive knowledge of best practices in the creation & design of instructional materials for adult education and/or corporate training, typically gained through advanced training or certification in Instructional Design, Learning Design & Technologies, and adult learning theory.
- 2-3 years of professional Organizational Development or related project work experience in Human Resources a plus.
- Experience in facilitating adult professional development or team engagements a plus. Interest in development or improvement of facilitation skills a plus.
- Strong stakeholder management & relationship building experience.
- Knowledge and application of best practices using technology for learning, including but not limited to multimedia development, web conferencing, learning management systems, social networking, and online collaborative tools.
- Ability to determine learning needs, distill complex concepts into simple, easy to grasp explanations, propose design solutions.
- Prior experience supporting and publishing content in Workday Learning module, experience in launching processes in Workday Performance Management module is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Project, and Excel, Articulate, Storyline and microlearning platforms.
- Proactive, creative and efficient in identifying issues, understanding and proposing solutions.
- Flexible, decisive, trusted, and responsible to assist in delivering on agreed to commitments and goals.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse personality types and communicate professionally with all levels of management
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent technical writing skills for development, implementation, and maintenance of documentation.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
