About the opportunityAt SWCA Environmental Consultants, we are looking for a Senior People Support Specialist to assume a wide range of professional and administrative responsibilities in working closely with HR (Human Resources) management to support SWCA’s approximately 1100 full time, part time, temporary and seasonal employees. The position will be 100% remote, from a home office.
Reporting to the People Support Manager, the Senior People Support Specialist will focus on providing excellent ‘internal customer service’ support. The goal is to ensure the HR department’s operations run smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization and all team members. What you will accomplish- Triage and respond to incoming people support issues (compliance and employee relations) which may include, but not be limited to employment verifications, COVID-19 inquiries, lead drug and alcohol testing program, conduct various employee interviews/check-ins (90-day, stay, engagement, exit), assist HR Business Partners and management with performance concerns, disciplinary action and conflict management issues, provide workers’ compensation intake and employee support, and partner with Talent Acquisition team on new hire background screen escalations
- Manage the HR Confidential inbox and ensure emails are acknowledged within 24 hours during business hours.
- Review and job assignment and pay change forms (Employee Change Forms – ECFs) . Ensure all approvals are received on forms, process timely to ensure HR approval meets payroll processing deadlines, consult with Total Rewards Team as needed on forms, and provide follow-up if there are questions and/or clarification is needed.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of standardized templates and forms
- Collaborate with the People team to contribute ideas and strategies to improve morale and engagement
- responsible for reviewing and approving the job assignment and pay change forms (ECFs).
- Support Inclusion and Diversity strategy efforts in collaboration with the larger Human Resources team, our Employee Resource Groups, and the Senior Leadership team
- Analyze facts, exercise sound judgment, and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions
- Demonstrate an ability to act with integrity and respect at all times and in all situations, ensuring compliance with all regulations, company standards and policies
- Build credibility and inspire confidence at all levels of the organization; maintain a fair and impartial attitude
- Maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information with tact and discretion
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Experience and qualifications for success- High School diploma or GED
- Previous experience providing administrative support of HR related functions or an HR team
- Highly customer service oriented with a strong motivation to go the extra mile for
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- Gains proficiency in other technology systems quickly
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal communications, written communications and listening skills
Preferred:
- Background screen escalations
- Previous oversight of occupational injuries and Workers’ Compensation claims

An employee in this Phoenix office -based position can expect an hourly wage of $25.75-$33.75 /hr. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law. Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
