This is a remote position offering the ability to telecommute from anywhere in the continental US, so long as you live within an hour from a major airport.

The Tax Training Manager will collaborate with client strategic partners and Spiirall’s client and content teams to identify technical needs, develop and deliver solutions, and measure impacts. Your time will be focused in the following areas (time percentages are estimates and will adjust based on client need):
- 50% invested in Content Creation and Delivery.
- 25% invested in Client Service activities.
- 25% invested in Additional Key Responsibilities and administrative tasks to include professional development, Spiirall team meetings, time off, etc.
Content Creation and Delivery
- Facilitate a variety of learning experiences to improve competency in basic, intermediate, and advanced tax skills.
- Record, edit, store, and launch training audio and video; conduct quality review on audio and video content to ensure a seamless user experience.
- Design innovative practical application experiences for tax topics.
- Develop content on Spiirall’s AI adaptive learning platform as directed by the Director of Learning Applications.
- Implement structures and methodologies that enhance the overall client learning experience. Embrace a learner-centered approach and ensure programs are built with a methodology for measuring outcomes and impact as instructed by the Director of Learning Applications.
- Create course materials, job aids, and visual aids to ensure alignment with Spiirall’s quality standards. Design and implement pre and post program assessments, assignments, and evaluations.
- Develop content with consideration for nuances related to accounting standards, accessibility, DEIB, ethics and the law.
Client Service
- Conduct needs assessments to identify learning gaps under the direction of the Technical Director of Learning Strategy.
- Develop and update learning plans for tax focused learners at client firms.
- Design firm-specific tax training programs.
- Coordinate tax focused firm specific training days; manage training vendors, including content quality, timelines, and budget.
Additional Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Technical Director of Learning Strategy with the creation of the tax section of the course catalog. Sources content providers to supplement Spiirall’s core training offerings.
- Stay current with tax regulations, new learning practices, technology, and resources.
- Conduct technical reviews in accordance with NASBA standard for CPE programs.
What you’ll need for this position (required):
- CPA or EA credential
- Experience with a variety of tax topics such as individuals, corporations, flow-through entities, international tax, and state and local tax, among others.
- 4+ years of experience in public accounting
- At least one year of experience developing and delivering tax training content.
- Experience delivering virtual training to a broad variety of experience levels.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate and simplify complex financial information.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment where improvements are continuously being made and things are changing quickly.
- Demonstrated success in building and managing professional relationships.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities with limited supervision.
- A willingness to travel overnight up to fifteen percent of the time.
- Strong interpersonal, self-management and organization skills.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Word) and Adobe skills
In some states and municipalities, Pinion is required by law to include a reasonable estimate for range of compensation. When making compensation decisions, Pinion takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, certifications/licenses, and geographic location. The wide range for this role reasonably accounts for these factors. Specific compensation decisions are made based on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $85,000 to $100,000.
