About the opportunitySWCA Environmental Consultants is looking for a Talent Acquisition Intern to join our growing Human Resources department. The person in this position will focus primarily on administrative and recruitment support for the Talent Acquisition team but will need to be flexible in their ability to assist the overall HR group when needed. Someone who is adaptable, a creative problem solver, and able to anticipate their internal and external customers’ needs, will do well in this role. The position can be based out of any SWCA office or remote locations throughout the U.S.
Our Human Resources (HR) department offers a challenging work environment where you will be a part of a team in supporting SWCA’s business needs and interests. The internship will last approximately from June 3rd, 2024 through August 16th, 2024 with the possibility of continuing into 2024. The position requires that the individual can work at least twenty (20) hours per week. This is a paid internship.

What you will accomplishYour role will be to assist our corporate Talent Acquisition team while learning a wide variety of skills. Major activities include, but may not be limited to:
- Assisting with recruitment of entry level positions, which may include scheduling and/or conducting interviews, working with Hiring Managers to determine needs, then creating and posting jobs according to Hiring Manager intake/input meetings.
- Daily execution of various onboarding responsibilities, to include management of the Recruiting and Onboarding inboxes, administration of the background check process, preparation and distribution of internal opportunity communications, and correspondence with internal customers, such as team members and hiring managers, and external customers, candidates and vendors
- Posting approved jobs to the appropriate career sites
- Working with new hires to ensure pre-employment online onboarding forms and uploads are complete
- Administration of hiring effectiveness surveys, including data analysis for the development of monthly, quarterly, and yearly recruiting metric reports
- Assist in the maintenance of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
- Maintaining the Employee Referral Program
- Review and screen applications, support candidate sourcing, and schedule and conduct interviews as needed.
- Prepare and extend offer letters
Experience and qualifications for successRequired
- Currently enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, psychology, or related field. Recent graduates or students in Masters programs will also be considered.
- Must have completed 60 credit hours and a minimum of a junior classification by May, 2024.
- Excellent typing skills and intermediate proficiency in MS Office programs.
- Basic Excel formulas such as V-Lookup, Pivot Tables and Concatenation and basic knowledge of Powerpoint.
- Must be able to exercise discretion and maintenance of confidentiality.
Preferred
- Excellent phone/email communication, multi-tasking and interpersonal skills with the ability to represent the company in a professional manner and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy.
