Overview
SRI International has an immediate opportunity for a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) at our headquarters in Menlo Park, CA with flexibility for a hybrid work schedule weekly. In this role, you will support business groups in some of SRI’s exciting technical research divisions and will partner with key stakeholders and leaders across SRI, by aligning HR initiatives with business strategy. You will work both strategically and tactically to provide programs that support talent development, organizational design, culture, change management, and learning and development to all levels of staff and management.
Responsibilities
- Establish solid, trust-based relationships with business groups.
- Partner with business teams to understand current and future business goals and trends that may impact work force needs and initiatives.
- Confidently consult and advise managers and employees on all aspects of employee relations, including management and staff issues, policies and procedures, misconduct, investigations, and terminations.
- Collaborate closely with leadership on performance management and talent planning initiatives to identify talent, develop leadership priorities and succession plans.
- Coach staff and managers through development and performance management.
- Help shape and communicate SRI HR policies and procedures.
- Work proactively to identify opportunities to enhance the employee experience and partner with leadership to develop and implement solutions to create a positive work environment to make SRI a great place to work.
- Partner with senior HRBPs to assess complex HR issues that require considerable judgment and risk management where policies and practices do not exist.
- Develop and work on special and cross-functional projects as needed.
- Facilitate and support change management within client groups and across the institute.
Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree, with 5 years relevant Human Resources to include:
- 3+ years’ experience as a Human Resources Business Partner, supporting business/client groups in line organizations.
- Must be a US person.
- Must be able to work on site three days a week for the first 8-12 weeks.
- Prefer experience in technology and/or research organizations.
- Knowledge of labor laws, statutes and best practices with hands-on experience handling employee relations issues.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Ability to navigate ambiguous situations.
- Demonstrated coaching skills, with the ability to establish credibility, trust and partnership at all levels of the organization.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate, influence, negotiate, resolve conflicts, and effectively coach both managers and employees.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills.
- High level of independence and initiative while working effectively as part of the team.
- Results oriented, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Ability to effectively partner across HR and other corporate groups.
- Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, statutes, etc.
- Periodic U.S. travel may be required.

The salary range is: $85,456-$141,530. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
